Zubair Ali, a 23-year-old Zimbabwean striker, has made a triumphant return to the premiership after scoring his first goal for Chadibe FC in the Botswana’s FNB Premiership . The forward, who joined the club in January from Zimbabwe’s Central Division One side ZRP Gwanda, played a crucial role in his team’s 3-1 victory over VTM FC on Saturday.

Following his impressive performance, Ali expressed his excitement, stating, “The feeling is unmatched, unexplained, unbelievable. It’s Premier League football; it feels good to be among the goalscorers, especially coming from Division One. It’s a dream come true for me.”

Ali’s journey back to the top flight has been marked by perseverance. After struggling for game time with Ngezi Platinum Stars at the age of 20, he found himself relegated to the reserve side. In 2024, seeking to revive his career, he joined ZRP Gwanda in the Central Region Division One, where he played 20 matches and contributed four goals and eight assists.

His performances caught the attention of Chadibe FC during December tournaments in Botswana, leading to an invitation for trials, which he successfully passed.

In his six appearances with Chadibe , Ali has already made an impact, registering four goal contributions, including one goal and three assists across all competitions. The club currently sits in 15th place, just above the relegation zone, as they aim to secure their position in the top flight.
