THE Zimbabwe Universities’ Sports Association (Zusa) has selected a new committee to take charge of tertiary institutions’ games for the next two years.

The new 12-member committee will be led by University of Zimbabwe’s Life Chemhere, who takes over from Liberty Maidza.

According to the committee’s board member for marketing and communications Sibonile Madoda, the new board’s immediate task is to organise a successful track and field athletics competition at White City Stadium in Bulawayo at the end of this month.

Chemhere will be deputised by the Women University’s Godfrey Nyamushamba, with Ted Ruzvidzo of African University taking over the secretary-general’s post.

“Our board member finance will be Tsitsi Muzuva from Bindura State University, while Benhilda Nyamuziwa from Harare Institute of Technology is board member research and innovations,” said Madoda, who is from the National University of Science and Technology (Nust).

Lupane State University’s Jabulani Mpofu will be in charge of the technical and development areas.

“We had five assessors also voted into office, who include two student assessors Tawanda Chingwanangwana (MSU) and Waddington Nyika (Chinhoyi University of Technology). The other three are Kaves Zvapano of MSU, Petros Musiwacho of Chinhoyi University of Technology and Percy Ngwenya from Great Zimbabwe University,” said Madoda.
