RESURGENT Zvishavane Stars entertain seasoned campaigners Chrome Stars in a Zifa Central Soccer League match at Mandava Stadium tomorrow.The Zvishavane side who were winless in their two opening encounters finally found the winning formula when they edged Gweru City 2-1 in their last match.
A 10th minute strike by Juniors Chizororo and another goal by Calvin Gumbura was all the league newcomers needed to silence City.
Stars had the last laugh in the grudge match after “Chiwororo” as the Gweru side is affectionately known, launched a scathing attack at them questioning their eligibility to be part of the league.
However, the match tomorrow will be a different ball game as they face Chrome Stars who also bounced back to winning ways after dispatching an out of sorts Vumbachikwe 1-0 last weekend.
The win saw the chrome miners move to second spot on the table with 11 points.
Despite the Kwekwe side’s fine form Zvishavane Stars gaffer, Fredrick Siziba vowed to collect maximum points from the former Premiership outfit.
“We are looking for another win. The first two games we were trying to find our footing and now that we managed to win against Gweru City I believe we have what it takes to collect maximum points from them (Chrome Stars),” he said.
His counterpart, Yolam Ngwira was cautious ahead of the game saying they will treat the game like any other match.
He said, “Zvishavane Stars are a good side if their win on Wednesday is anything to go by. However, we are going to play our normal game in the hope of a positive result.”
