A music festival, 0292 Music Festival aimed at promoting artistes from Bulawayo is on the cards.

The event that has been slated for November 4 is being organised by a Bulawayo-born entrepreneur, Bongani Mkwananzi who is based in the United Kingdom in partnership with local promoters, Kultured Decoded Podcast.

The upcoming event is set to be launched on Friday at the musically historic Big Bhawa in Makokoba, Bulawayo through a press conference.

“The main highlight at the presser is the launch of our inaugural 0292 Music Festival on the 4th of November this year. We also want to focus on our other services giving a gist of the extent of our network and services,” event organisers said in a statement.

They said artistes who will perform and the festival’s venue are set to be announced soon.

“The festival is a stage for Bulawayo artistes to expose themselves to one another, and the wider city and country. Our long-term vision is to become the premier summer event in the region as well as offer the most sustainable event and best experience possible.

“It is our hope that through the festival, we can augment the city’s micro-economy by involving small businesses from different sectors, especially fast-food and fashion companies by setting up stalls in order to advertise and sell their products at the event.”

Players in the hospitality industry, organisers said are also expected to benefit from the event.

“In short, we aim to bring about a ‘feel-good’ factor within the city through music which is a part of the cultural and historic fibre in Bulawayo that is rich in culture. We aim to take people through time while exposing modern music trends and culture,” they said.
