Property developer Ken Sharpe has launched a ‘1 billion bricks by 2050’ strategy statement under his West Prop Zimbabwe company which is set to boost the economy.
With the 1 billion bricks by 2050 strategy, West Prop are set to pioneer world class, vertically integrated, premium lifestyle communities in Zimbabwe, ‘bringing Dubai to Zimbabwe.’
West Prop, using technology and innovation, operate a high performance culture of excellence delivering a trusted customer centric ecosystem to live, work, play and shop.
Forbes Award winning businessman Ken Sharpe believes the 1 billion number is realistic and attainable because it matches the land bank at their disposal.
“We chose this 1 billion bricks strategy statement, 1 billion is the right number because if you look at our land bank it equates to about 1 billion bricks to build it out.
“In today’s value that’s about US$120 million – US$150 million in cost of bricks and equivalent to about US$3 billion in the cost of the finished buildings,’’ he said.
Looking way ahead into the future, Ken Sharpe and West Prop are looking at a projected US$9 – 30 billion in value from this kind of project.
“If we project that into the future to 2050, we are not going to see US$3 billion of the same property value, its going to be 3 times or 10 times that value which puts us to between US$9 to US$30 billion in value,” said Sharpe.
With a commitment to impacting the economy in a positive way, this project and many others by West Prop are set to boost the economy through infrastructure development.
“With 1 billion bricks you can bring a 9-90 billion of value to our country, that’s a permanent addition to the economy, that investment stays in the economy, the billion bricks that we put into the ground stays in the ground,” he said.
