THE Vine’s 10th year anniversary celebrations at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Saturday lived up to expectations.
The magnificent ensemble included a 100-piece orchestra from Johannesburg, a 30-member choir and 30 children from the Adventist Pathfinders who were all supporting the Vine Choir and celebrating their journey.
The show, which ran under the theme ‘Great is Thy Faithfulness’ included performances from Peniel Tambama, multi-award winning artis Anatoria, and the Vine.
The group’s director, Everton Mlalazi said it has been quite an eventful journey.
“I want to introduce that same God, same Christ to all of you. In 2014, it was just a dream, some people here were with us when we started this dream.
“I can tell that a few members who started with us are still there. It has been 10 years. We love you and I believe in you,” he said.
The group has a unique touch when it comes to stage perfection and the lighting and sound were great, with the stage setting captivating.
Having begun their musical journey in 2014, under the directorship of Mlalazi, the Vine Choir released its debut album ‘Musandipfuure’ in 2018.
In 2022, the choral group hosted a live DVD recording, a 12-track, ‘The Great Physician’ which featured South African musicians such as the Soweto Gospel Choir, Mabongi, and Mahalia Buchanan.
