THE woman, whose long-term extra-marital affair with MSU lecturer Marti Muduhwa, triggered a sequence of tragic events in Dzivarasekwa yesterday, has been identified as Patience Mangwiro.
She is the acting Director of Enterprise at Midlands State University.
Patience and Muduwa, who is a Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission Commissioner, had been having an extra-marital affair for five years.
The two have a child together.
At the weekend, Muduhwa paid lobola for Patience.
On Monday, Muduhwa posted an image from the ‘Roora Day’ on his Whatsapp status before removing it.
However, by then, the damage had already been done.
Patience is also said to have paraded some of the photos of her ‘Roora Day’ on social media.
Muduhwa was struck three times with an axe, in his sleep, by his wife Lyliosa Chirara, who then committed suicide by downing rat poison.
“We have been saddened by the death of these two people,” said a student at the university.
“Mangwiro recently paraded some of her lobola day photographs on social media bragging of the marriage.
“This is so sad.”
Patience’s first marriage collapsed before she met and dated Muduhwa.
