The 2024 FBC Zimbabwe Golf Open is off and running with 144 golfers teeing off during the course of the morning.
Local golf’s major is taking place at Royal Harare Golf Club in the capital Harare, where conditions are looking friendly for the golfers.
The first group comprising South African, Brandon Gildenhuys, Zimbabwean Simon Murungweni and Ungandan pro, Njoroge Kibugu teed off at 6.30am followed by the trio of South Africans, Therion Nel and David Amm and Ugandan, Mutahi Kibugu at 6.40am.
Teeing off among the favorites to win the multi-million rand Sunshow Tour sanctioned golf extravaganza, Zimbabwean, Scott Vincent teed off at 7 am along with the South African duo of Rupert Kaminski and another tournament favourtite, Louis Albertse.
Four-time Safari Tour winner, Robson Chinoi will be hoping for a better finish higher up the leaderboard after teeing off at 7.20 am with Kyle Barker and Jovan Rebula.
Scott’s younger brother, Kieran who is making a name for himself on the LIV Golf Tour teed off at 7.30 am along with Jaco Ahlers and Dylan Mostert while top local amateur Keegan Shutt teed off at 7.50 am with Hennie O’Kennedy and Jaco Van Zyl
The weather should be playable throughout this Thursday with 144 players in this year’s field looking to make the cut.
