FIFTEEN girls from InLine Academy have been shortlisted to participate in the Grassrootsoccer Academy initiated training, education and talent identification project, an official said yesterday.

Inline Academy founder and director Trust Kwembeya said Grassrootssoccer Academy had approached them to assist in embarking in peer education through sports of youths in schools. “We are delighted that our girls were given a chance to be part of that programme and we hope that such an opportunity will lead to formal partnerships with Grassrootsoccer Academy in future projects,” said Kwembeya.

He said Grassrootsoccer had requested a list of trainees from his institution and InLine had initially compiled a list of 30 girls that could be suitable for the project.

“15 girls made the cut and with such a development, we foresee a situation whereby the two organisations will be jointly embarking in similar projects,” said Kwambeya. He added that through the Grassrootsoccer Academy project, the trainers would work with the community at large.
