“All is set from our end to begin our season as we just finished the registration of players under the new centralised system,” she said.
The catch, however, is that the Super League association is yet to sit down with their sponsor Marange Resources on 16 May in Harare with teams’ representatives so that the sponsorship package can be unveiled and the greenlight be given by the sponsor if their end is tied up.
Maguraushe said this position was the cause for the delay to the league’s start and as such they were now targeting 2 June as the date they were going to propose to Marange Resources for the league to start.
“In our meeting on 16 May we are going to propose 2 June for our league start since we will only play 18 games in 18 weeks so time is not really an issue although teams are now itching to square off as they have been preparing for a long time,” Maguraushe said.
This comes after Bulawayo teams New Orleans and Inline Academy have announced their readiness to start gunning for the league title as they have been preparing since the turn of the year and this is the case with most teams that will be participating in the league.
