MORE than 150 Speciss College students in Bulawayo on Friday graduated amid pomp and fanfare with hundreds of people attending the event.
The graduates completed diplomas and advanced diplomas in Hospitality, Tourism, Motor Maintenance, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Auto Electrics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Motor Vehicle Systems, Telecommunication Systems and various Garment Courses.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mrs Sandy Whitehead, who was the guest of honour, urged graduates to start their own businesses.
“Speciss does not only teach theory, but equips their students with hands-on courses that enable them to get experience and be engaged by employers straight from college. Not only do these courses get them employment, but enable them start their own businesses and be their own bosses. The synergies embedded into the courses provided by Speciss are what our current economy is yearning for,” she said.
During the graduation ceremony, Mrs Whitehead applauded the quality of education provided by Speciss.
Speciss director of studies Miss Tracy Chigwada said out of 150 students who graduated, 85 were female and 65 were male.
