THE process to search for City of Mutare’s new Town Clerk continues with the local authority confirming receiving 17 applications for the vacant post.

The local authority’s top office fell vacant following the death of Mr Joshua Maligwa early this year and adverts inviting interested candidates were recently flighted in the local Press.

Mutare mayor, Councillor Blessing Tandi confirmed receiving 17 applications whose closing date for submission was August 4.

The next step is to shortlist applicants before conducting interviews on a date yet to be announced, Cllr Tandi said.

City of Mutare health director, Dr Antony Mutara has been acting since Mr Maligwa’s death.
