Hwange man steals goat, sells meat to owner

A 28-YEAR-OLD man from Hwange stole a goat, skinned it and sold the meat to its owner.
Shylock Zulu stole Thabani Sibanda’s goat at Mashala grazing land.

He slaughtered the goat and sold it to Thabani Sibanda claiming it was bush buck meat.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said on 8 January at Mashala grazing area Shylock Zulu unlawfully took one black and white male goat belonging to Thabani Sibanda.

“Zulu slaughtered the said goat and proceeded to Sibanda’s homestead where he sold the meat from the carcass to the complainant for US$$15 purporting it to be bushbuck meat. Sibanda became suspicious that the meat could be from his goat which went missing.”
“Zulu was sentenced to six months imprisonment, of which 3 months were suspended on condition he does not commit a similar offence in the next 5 years. The remaining 3 months were suspended on condition Zulu pays Sibanda ZWG$1 057”, said the NPAZ
