BEITBRIDGE East Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Albert Nguluvhe has provided examination stationery to all 2 077 Grade Seven candidates in his constituency ahead of the 2026 ZIMSEC examinations.
The examinations are scheduled to begin on Monday next week, with each candidate set to receive a pencil, ruler and ballpoint pen under the annual initiative.
In a statement on Friday, Minister Nguluvhe said the support was intended to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while ensuring that no learner misses examinations because of a lack of basic stationery.
“The support is meant to ease the burden on parents and guardians and to ensure that no child fails to sit for examinations due to lack of basic stationery. All the stationery has been handed over to the District Inspector of Schools (DIS) for onward distribution to school heads,” said Minister Nguluvhe.
The minister said his office undertakes the initiative every year as part of efforts to support examination candidates across Beitbridge East.
He also announced a scholarship programme for the district’s top-performing pupils from vulnerable backgrounds based on the 2026 Grade Seven results.
Under the programme, the 10 best-performing eligible pupils will receive full boarding scholarships from Form One to Form Four.
Minister Nguluvhe said the scholarships were part of his continued efforts to improve access to quality education and motivate learners to excel academically.
He paid tribute to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, school heads, teachers and parents for their dedication to supporting children’s education.
