2 killed in overloaded Honda Fit crash

TWO people died died on the spot while 10 others were injured when an overloaded Honda Fit carrying 11 passengers was involved in an accident along the Nyanga –Rwenya Road on Thursday.

Police confirmed the incident on their X (formerly Twitter) handle.

The overloaded vehicle veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof, said the police.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on Thursday at around 5pm at the 48 kilometre peg along Nyanga–Rwenya Road.

“Two people were killed while 10 others were injured when a Honda Fit with 11 passengers on board veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof.

“The bodies of the victims were taken to Nyanga District Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured were referred to Regina Coeli Mission Hospital for treatment,” reads the X post.
