2 pupils steal whisky

A Seke 8 High School pupil was yesterday arraigned before the courts for stealing whisky in a TM supermarket over the weekend. Trenty Rheppo (18) of number 1817 Unit L Chitungwiza is jointly charged with Norest Nyamupinga (25) of number 1119 St Mary’s Chitungwiza.

They both admitted to theft charges when they appeared before Mbare magistrate Ms Kudzai Zihove. The pair was remanded to today for sentence.

Rheppo told the court that he was still a pupil and needed the money to pay his school fees.

Nyamupinga told the court he intended to sell the alcohol as he has no means of earning a living.

The prosecutor Ms Yvonne Gurira told the court that on Saturday in the afternoon the pair entered TM Arcadia. The court heard that the pair stole two bottles of Two Keys whisky, a bottle of Bols brandy and four packs of milk and put the stolen property in a plastic bag.

A security guard who was by the door then apprehended the two.

A report was made to the police leading to their arrest.
