FAST-rising musician King Alfa, the voice behind the popular hit Yadeuka Yadeuka, is set to make his maiden public live performance appearance in Bulawayo at a city nightspot on Friday night, adding a youthful spark to a celebration that will bring together some of the country’s exciting musical talents.
The youngster will share the stage with established crowd favourites Jah Master and Ndunge Yut, artistes who have built a strong following in the City of Kings and Queens over the past few years.
Also expected to take to the stage is Willy Power, as the city’s creative community comes together for a special celebration in honour of Bulawayo-based creative Mr Jaiva.
The event is set to celebrate Mr Jaiva’s birthday, his contribution to the arts and his achievements, with organisers saying the occasion is about giving the creative his flowers while he can still enjoy and appreciate them.
Adding to the festive atmosphere will be a stellar line-up of DJs, including DJ Keitho, DJ Riggs, DJ SKB, DJ Ayaxx and DJ Flexxy, who will keep revellers on their feet throughout the night.
DJ Keitho said the celebration was inspired by the need to recognise and appreciate creatives for their contribution while they are still able to witness the love and support from their communities.
“Mr Jaiva is a vital cog in the city’s arts scene and we felt it right to celebrate with him his birthday in style through the coming in of popular artistes who are doing well in the industry.
“This is something we want to continue doing for many artistes in and around the city because it gives them the zeal to continue entertaining people,” said DJ Keitho.
