Added to the fun will be a fashion show featuring previous Size 4 title holders showcasing new collections by Harare-based designers Peatrice, Abi and Size 4’s own in house designers. Part of the entertainment will be courtesy of Harare’s finest DJs Kudzai “Dee Nosh” Matondo and his colleague Elroy “L-Roy” Miller on the turntables.
The pair is well known for their mixes behind the decks. They have played in and outside Harare drawing huge crowds. Now based at Circus Nightclub, both Dee Nosh and L-Roy have a lot of experience in rocking the masses especially when they play house, R‘n’B and hip-hop.
Patience Tafirenyika was the inaugural queen in 2003 landing her a leading role in Extra Large’s chart topping music video “Wandinoda” aka “Shamulaz” while Miss Circus 2005 Tsungai Makwanya used the title to launch her modelling career.
According to Wilbert Rukato of Size 4, who are organising the beauty contest, proceeds from the show will go to a children’s home in Tafara.
“It’s a beauty pageant with a purpose. We are not just doing this for the sake of entertainment, but we are hoping to donate part of the money to charity. We are yet to identify the children’s home but it is in Tafara.
“Rehearsals are underway, the models are beautiful and what remains is the main event. The competition is tight and the best model will win,” he said.
Rukato said the donation will be held on June 30 starting at 3pm.
