Rainbow Arts Festival brings Gwanda to life

THE usually quiet and entertainment starved small town of Gwanda on Friday reverberated with song and dance as arts groups celebrated the province’s talent at the Rainbow Arts Festival.
The two-day festival running under the theme “Talent Identification and Development, Taking the Arts to the People” roared into life as artistes from all corners of the province thronged the provincial capital to showcase their best acts.

Ibumba fest scaled down

THE previously week-long Ibumba Festival has been reduced to four days due to lack of support and funding.
Siyaya Arts, the organisers of the festival which has become a major event on the Bulawayo entertainment calender, said the fete would run for only four days.
The festival will run from the 15 to 18 December.

THE headmistress of Siganda Secondary School, Mrs Concillia Ngwenya, who was recently brutally stabbed by a male teacher at the school, has been discharged from hospital.
Mrs Ngwenya was admitted to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after the male  teacher, Nhlonipho Nyathi, allegedly attacked her during a disciplinary hearing over his alleged affair with a 16-year-old Form Three pupil.
