China denounces EU’s airline emissions law
Beijing — China voiced its deep concern and opposition yesterday to a European Union plan to counter airline emissions, and called for talks to resolve the issue a day after China’s major airlines refused to pay any carbon costs under the new law.
‘Kenya wind power project to start by April’
NAIROBI — Construction of a 310 megawatt (MW) wind power project in Kenya is expected to start in April after its financiers complete due diligence on the project, a senior company official said yesterday.
China trade surplus narrows
China’s trade surplus has narrowed for a third straight year as demand for its products weakened in the US and Europe.
