Children killed in bombing
MOGADISHU (Somalia) — An insurgent spokesman and residents in a southern Somali town said two Kenyan fighter jets apparently targeting a militant camp instead killed five children, as a Kenyan military spokesman said yesterday that the jets hit an al-Shabab command centre.

ZMDC needs $20m to resume operations at SMM
The Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC) requires at least $20 million to resume operations at Shabanie and Mashaba Mines (SMM), the chairman Mr Goodwills Masimirembwa, has said.
SMM, which has been at the centre of a protracted ownership wrangle between former owner Mutumwa Mawere and the Government, is now owned by the ZMDC.
Gold production increases to 11 645kg

ZIMBABWE’S gold production increased from 8 443,4 kilogrammes in 2010 to 11 645,3kg last year, statistics from the Reserve Bank show.
The figures are based on deliveries to Fidelity Printers and Refiners.

FORMER Premier Soccer League club Bantu Rovers will use Under-19 players for their Zifa Southern Region Division One as they prepare for a number of tournaments abroad.
Tshintsha Guluva are reportedly said to be embarking on an academy similar to Harare’s Black Aces and using Methembe Ndlovu’s United States of America links. The team will play in a number of invitational competitions there.
