2,4 million human trafficking victims: UN

New York —The UN crime-fighting office said on Tuesday that 2,4 million people across the globe are victims of human trafficking at any one time, and 80 percent of them are being exploited as sexual slaves.

Quton sets up seed multiplication plant

Cotton seed company Quton has set up a seed multiplication plant in Malawi to make the southern African country self reliant by 2014, an official has said.
Currently Malawi imports cotton seed from Zimbabwe, a situation which authorities in that country are not happy with.

Submission of returns for income tax and capital gains tax purposes

Every year, in terms of the provisions of Section 37 of the Income Tax Act, the Commissioner  General of  the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority  notifies all persons or representative taxpayers, who have received or  accrued  or deemed  to have  accrued  income from sources  within Zimbabwe to submit income tax and capital gains tax returns. Such returns should be submitted within 30 days after the date of the notice or other prescribed time limits.
