FIVE people were killed while five others were seriously injured when the driver of a car they were travelling in lost control of the vehicle, resulting in it veering off the road and plunging into a river, police said yesterday.

New diamond policy not yet finalised

The Government has not yet finished crafting the new diamond policy which it had expected to be in place by the end of last month, a senior official has said.
Zimbabwe has been using the Precious Stones Trade Act to regulate the diamond industry since the gems were first discovered in 1903 at Somabula.
The diamond policy seeks to promote accountability in the marketing of the precious stones.

Government to meet over winter wheat preps

This comes in the wake of growing concern over delayed preparations for the winter wheat season that is expected to start on 1 May.

ZIMBABWEANS will tomorrow join the rest of the world in commemorating the Easter holiday, a very symbolic period in the world of Christianity as Christians the world-over commemorate the trials and tribulations of Jesus Christ.

The holiday starts with Good Friday tomorrow and ends with Easter Monday. During this period, Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on                    Friday and his resurrection on Easter    Sunday.
