Showdown looms over fired councillors

PRIME Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Local Government, Rural and Urban Development Minister Ignatius Chombo are headed for a showdown after the former vowed not to furnish the minister with reasons behind the dismissal of 12 MDC-T councillors.
Minister Chombo on Tuesday wrote to PM Tsvangirai demanding reports on MDC-T councillors fired by the party to enable Government to make informed intervention.
However, MDC-T has vowed not to cooperate with Minister Chombo’s request.
The MDC-T dismissed 12 councillors last month from various cities on corruption charges.
Another woman joins PM’s marriage saga

A SOUTH African woman who claims to be engaged to Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has joined Ms Locardia Karimatsenga in the fight to have the premier’s wedding stopped.
PM Tsvangirai is scheduled to wed his fiancée Ms Elizabeth Macheka tomorrow at Raintree Lodge in Umwinsidale, Harare.
Ms Nosipho Regina Shilubane has instructed her lawyer, Mr Wellington Pasipanodya of Manase and
Manase legal practitioners, to file an objection with Harare provincial magistrate Mr Munamato Mutevedzi.
Mr Mutevedzi granted the PM a marriage licence for tomorrow’s wedding.

LAWYERS representing Ms Locardia Karimatsenga have written to the Attorney General seeking the arrest of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai on allegations of bigamy.
Mr Jonathan Samukange of Venturas and Samukange law firm yesterday wrote to Mr Johannes Tomana arguing that Mr Tsvangirai had breached Section 104 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
PM Tsvangirai paid lobola for Ms Elizabeth Macheka and on 27 August this year obtained a marriage licence in preparation for his wedding tomorrow.
