PM’s messy love life splits party

Herald Reporter
MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai’s messy sex life has led to a split of the party’s UK and Ireland branch.
A faction led by Ms Suzeet Kwenda is calling for the premier to resign from Government and the party’s top post.

Ms Kwenda wrote to Mr Tsvangirai last week advising him of her faction’s position.
The letter was sent to MDC-T headquarters at Harvest House in Harare.

Ms Kwenda said Mr Tsvangirai had shown total disrespect for women and the girl child.
“On behalf of all Zimbabwean women who are sick and tired of being abused, I am kindly requesting you to do the honourable thing and resign,” she said.

“As a leader, your disrespect and attitude towards women leaves a lot to be desired. No excuse is acceptable for the emotional or physical abuse of women and sexual objectification thereof.
“Leaders should live by example and be good role models to the younger generation who are going to be the future leaders,” reads part of the letter.

Mr Tsvangirai was recently involved in a messy love triangle that saw his planned wedding to Ms Elizabeth Macheka under Chapter 5:11 last Saturday being cancelled.
The MDC-T leader was forced to settle for a traditional ceremony after his first wife Ms Locardia Karimatsenga successfully challenged his intended marriage to Ms Macheka.
Mr Tsvangirai was also linked to several women, with one from South Africa also approaching the local courts claiming she was his girlfriend.

Ms Kwenda said to save his dignity, Mr Tsvangirai should resign as the MDC-T president.
MDC-T spokesperson Mr Douglas Mwonzora dismissed Ms Kwenda’s letter yesterday.
He alleged that the letter was authored by Zanu-PF and members of the Central Intelligence Organisation.

Murders trigger fear, panic in Domboshava

Felex Share Herald Reporter
FEAR and panic have gripped the Chinamhora community in Domboshava following the murder of six people within a month in mysterious circumstances.

Five of the victims were killed using the same method, raising suspicion that an organised gang was on the prowl.
The five, all men, are believed to have been hit by blunt objects on their heads, while their bodies had bruises.

They were identified as Macheka Marongedze (Molife Farm), Waintani Tsoka (Zimbiru Village), Cephas Dewa (Murwira Village), Clemence Parirehwa (Parirehwa Village) and Gerald Masawi (Mungate Village).
The sixth body is yet to be identified, while Paddington Zhakata is battling for life at Parirenyatwa Hospital after surviving an attack.

Although police believe the killings are not ritual murders, villagers think otherwise.
Those interviewed yesterday told The Herald that they were now fearing the unknown – even during the day.
The villagers said they were now moving in groups.

Shops are being closed early while nightclubs are now deserted as people prefer staying indoors.
“This is strange and everyone is afraid. This has never happened in our area.

“We have to move in groups in case of attacks from assailants. Revellers no longer enjoy and by 6pm people will be in their houses,” said Mr Simbarashe Shito from Parirehwa Village.
Mr Tichaona Parirehwa, who lost his brother Clemence, said the family was living in fear.

Clemence’s naked body was found just 50 metres from a local nightclub.
“We are insecure because we do not know if the assailants have gone or are still among us.

“As you can see, our house is less than a kilometre from the growth point but my brother was killed around that place.”
Clemence’s son, Evans, said the family was not happy with police investigations.
