ZIMBABWEAN professional golfers Robson Chinhoi and Stuart Krog finished seventh and ninth respectively at the Sunshine Tour’s KCM Golf Challenge at Nchanga Golf Club in Zambia on Sunday.

Chinhoi had a good outing after he went into the second round tied for second as Krog, fresh from winning the Mopani Zambia Open, was also in the race.

A total of seven Zimbabwean professional golfers had taken to the tee with Visitor Mapwanya, Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa, Biggie Chibvuri, Bradley Kalaisi, Michael Wallace and Darlington Chikayambidze taking part.

It was only Chinhoi and Krog who made the cut after the two qualifying rounds as the five other players failed to make it to the finals.

Chinhoi managed rounds of 70, 63, 72 and 68 for a total 15-under 273 to tie with South African, Kyle Barker.

Krog was a shot behind on 14-under with impressive rounds of 70, 68, 70 and a strong 66 to finish tied on ninth with seasoned campaigner Jaco Prinsloo, Jacques de Villers and Allen John.

The tournament was won by South African, Samuel Simpson who finished on 18-under par with rounds of 70, 70, 64 and 66.

Simpson dethroned Haydn Porteous who went on to finish second after starting the final round as the leader.

The South African claimed his third Sunshine Tour title by one shot clear from a group of four players.

Simpson, the leader of this season’s The Courier Guy Order of Merit once again celebrated his love-affair with golf in Zambia, having won the 2025 Mopani Zambia Open and finished joint fifth at last week’s Mopani Zambia Open.

The KCM Golf Challenge also produced the fourth player to record a hole-in-one this season, after Christiaan Burke aced the 150m par three ninth hole with a pitching wedge.
