Heroine Muchena buried

The Air Force of Zimbabwe senior officer, Group Captain Tendai Muffet Muchena, who died on Monday was yesterday buried at Warren Hills provincial Heroes Acre.
Grp Capt Muchena died at the age of 54 at Manyame Air Force base hospital and was declared a liberation war heroine.

MDC-T loses special vote case

MDC-T’s attempt to compel the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission to  nullify the special vote failed yesterday after the High Court threw out the application.
The special vote is meant for people including civil servants and the uniformed forces who will be away from their respective wards during the harmonised elections on July 31.

Reuters tips Zanu-pf to win polls

REUTERS, an international news agency headquartered in New York, has added its voice to pundits predicting a victory for Zanu-PF in the harmonised elections.
The agency said while there had been no recent opinion polls, indications were that Zanu-PF would romp to victory on July 31.

Iraq suicide bomber kills 20

BAQUBA. — A suicide bomber killed 20 people inside a crowded Sunni mosque north of Baghdad yesterday, police said, as Iraq struggles to contain its worst violence since 2008.
The bomber detonated explosives soon after entering the Abu Bakr al-Sadiq Mosque as the imam gave the Friday sermon in the town of Al-Wajihiyah, a police colonel said.
