THE National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness (NFZBF) has announced that the 2017 Mr and Ms Novice bodybuilding contest will be held on March 25 at Profitness Health Club in Harare.

The event will be the first in the NFZBF 2017 calendar.

NFZBF spokesperson Quiet Shangai said everything has been set for the competition.

“The preparations are going well and everything has been sorted. What is left is for the day to come which gives bodybuilders enough time to prepare thoroughly. The venue, prizes, funds and judges have all been secured. Everything looks promising and we are looking forward to an exciting contest,” Shangai said.

He said eight provinces; Harare, Bulawayo, Midlands, Mashonaland Central, Manicaland, Masvingo, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland West had shown interest in taking part in the contest.

The contest will see bodybuilders facing off in five different categories, which include Junior Men Under-21, Senior Men Open, Women Bikini fitness, Men’s fitness and Wheelchair bodybuilding.

Muchineripi Katena (37) from Gweru’s Berbaton Gym and Selina Manuel (17) from Bulawayo’s Body Works Gym are expected to defend their titles in this year’s competition after being crowned Mr and Ms Novice 2016 respectively.
