2017 national budget presentation date set

FINANCE and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa will present the 2017 National Budget statement to Parliament on December 8.

In a statement yesterday, Treasury said the theme of the 2017 budget is “Pushing the Frontietrs of Production” in keeping with the Government’s policy thrust to increase production and productivity in on-going efforts to revive the economy.

Countrywide consultations on the 2017 national budget were held in September and Parliament met from November 2-6 in Bulawayo for the pre-budget seminar. Presentations by line ministries were made to Parliament laying out priority areas that are expected to get prime focus.
