Tandava wins Republic Cup race

IT was an emotional moment for retiring renowned trainer, Penny Fisher, as she watched her horse Tandava gallop to victory at the 23rd edition of the Republic Cup Trust race at Borrowdale Racecourse yesterday.

lt was Tandava’s first race after returning from a 95-day vacation in South Africa and he gave a colourful send-off to his trainer, who is retiring after a 30-year career with horses.

High costs hamper horticultural exports

HIGH costs of obtaining international compliance certification by local horticultural producers are constraining access to lucrative international markets at a time there is growing interest in local fresh produce from overseas markets.

While Zimbabwe is making significant strides in re-entering global markets, particularly the European Union – the world’s largest consumer of horticultural products –  small -scale producers are finding it difficult to be certified largely due to high certification costs.

Criminal immunity for children below 10 years
