PLUMTREE is set to come alive with the sounds of Rhumba music at the 2024 Plumtree shutdown show, featuring some of the industry’s top acts and a special appearance by disco queen, Abigail Mabuza.
Promoted by Underground Entertainment, the event will bring together renowned Rhumba artistes Insimbi ZeZhwane, Godolude, Mlambos Express Band, Clement Magwaza and 2023 breakout star DJ 20 famed for the runaway hit Imithwalo, all set to share the stage.
With each artiste planning to release new albums as the year ends, the show promises to draw Rhumba lovers from across the region.
Set to take place at Omadu Lodge, just a few kilometres outside Plumtree, the shutdown event on December 30 is expected to attract fans, including many from neighbouring Botswana, where Rhumba has a dedicated following.

Dubbed the “Indumezulu Festival”, this long-anticipated event has been in the works for years, according to Underground Entertainment boss Phakamani “PK” Nkomo.
“It has always been my dream to contribute to our arts industry by bringing together musicians and fans for a memorable entertainment experience. I envisioned Indumezulu Festival as a major event, and this year, we’re starting with a focus on regional talent,” PK said.
He expressed his ambition to make this an annual event, eventually expanding to feature artistes from across Zimbabwe.
The promoter also plans to infuse the event with a South African flair and promised an exciting, fun-filled day. — @themkhust
