Cde Basopo’s body arrives in Harare

THE body of national hero Cde Walter Basopo has arrived at Charles Gumbo Barracks in Harare, where it will lie in state ahead of burial at the National Heroes Acre tomorrow.
Cde Basopo’s body was accompanied by his relatives.
The national hero will be buried together with Brigadier-General (Rtd) Rungani.
Director of internal audit in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Mr Dadirai Tadios outlined the burial arrangements, saying all is set for the burial of the two national heroes.
“We are expecting people to come out in their numbers to bid farewell to the two gallant heroes.
“The gates will open for the public by 6 am, with mourners expected to be seated by 7 am,” he said.
President Mnangagwa will give his keynote address.
The bodies of the two national heroes are expected to lie in state at Charles Gumbo Barracks ahead of burial tomorrow.
