Rhumba sensation Godolude and his band transformed a usually quiet corner of rural Gwanda into a vibrant hub of music, dance and high energy, delivering an electrifying performance that left hundreds of fans thrilled in Gqalaza, Ward 7 on Saturday night.

From the moment the music kicked off, the crowd remained on its feet, matching Godolude’s rhythm with loud cheers and spirited dance moves. Known for blending showmanship with strong stage chemistry, the artiste kept the audience fully engaged throughout the night with polished delivery and infectious beats.

Among the standout moments was his hit song Dlalabhambadzi, which drew one of the loudest reactions of the evening. Fans sang along passionately, showing the strong connection between the music and the community.

As the night intensified, spectators expressed their excitement in dramatic fashion – jumping, ululating and at times rushing onto the stage during peak moments, as Godolude and his band delivered sultry, high-energy dance routines that captivated all in attendance.

Beyond the entertainment, the event evolved into a shared community experience, where villagers felt included and actively involved rather than mere spectators. The highlight of the night came when the event organiser, Gwanda North constituency Member of Parliament Lungisani Costa “Two Minutes” Ncube, joined Godolude on stage, impressing the crowd with his nimble footwork during a lively dance session.

Speaking after the show, Godolude expressed delight at the reception.
“We’re happy with the warm welcome we received. The crowd showed us so much love, singing along to our songs, and they gave an especially strong response to our hit, Dlalabhambadzi,” said Godolude.

While the night delivered memorable entertainment, Mr Ncube emphasised that the event also served a civic purpose. The gathering was designed as a platform to educate villagers about Zimbabwe’s Constitution Amendment Bill No 3, encouraging residents to better understand its provisions and potential benefits.

Ncube said the initiative successfully drew people from different wards, combining free entertainment with civic awareness.
“We managed to pull villagers from several wards to come and get entertainment from one of their favourite musicians for free. The idea behind was to educate them about the bill, the contents of the bill and its advantages,” Ncube said.
