251 women die giving birth in 2015

WOMEN continue to lose their lives while giving birth with latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Child Care indicating that 251 have died so far this year.

According to the ministry’s weekly disease update, 407 people also died from diarrhoea during the same period. Of the 251 maternal fatalities, three died this month.

The three deaths this month were recorded in Buhera district in Manicaland province, Gwanda district in Matabeleland South province and Harare Central Hospital.
