This week we celebrate one such braniac who is Vincent Wadzanai Zavave a former A level student from Victoria High in Masvingo.
The province’s best A Level student this year, Zavave scooped a whooping 26 points after sitting for six subjects.
Of the six subjects, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were done at school while he tutored himself in Further Mathematics, Economics and Accounts.
He attained straight As in Economics, Physics and Mathematics; managed Bs in Chemistry and Accounts plus a C in Further Mathematics.
This certainly is brilliance at its best for the April Fools boy who happens to have been born on the April 1.
His intelligence has never been a joke since he attained four units at Grade Seven while at Madyangove Primary School in Chivi. At O-Level, he got nine straight As and two Bs at Hippo Valley High in Chiredzi.
His hope today is to study Actuarial Science at the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo.
“My father, Takawira Cletos Zavave, a Physical Science teacher at Nyaningwe High School in Chivi is the one I give credit for my intelligence,” he was quoted saying soon after taking his results.
Zavave however could not beat the record set by Gokomere High School wonder-boy, Godfrey Museva who attained 28 points in the 2012 ZIMSEC A Level examinations.
