3 in court for illegal diamond possession

THREE men admitted to possessing 2.97 carats of diamond which they intended to trade in Harare’s city centre when they appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court.

Blessed Gwinyai, Nkosana Mupanduki and Takunda Matambanadzo admitted to possessing the precious stones when they appeared before Magistrate Mrs Tafadzwa Miti.

The trio was arrested at Eastgate Mall by detectives from Minerals Flora and Fauna on January 28.

Gwinyai, Mupanduki and Matambanadzo are expected back in court tomorrow for continuation of plea recording.

Mr Thomas Chanakira appeared for the State.
