3 keys to unlock God’s favour in 2015

We are in a good year, a year of the Lord’s Favour and it is important to be excited about a new year! In all you do it’s important to have joy and to like what you will be doing – it fuels your capacity to succeed.

So I challenge you, whoever you are, and wherever you are reading this article from; despite even what is surrounding you at this very hour, be joyful in the Lord for the year 2015, it’s a good year, it’s your year!

You could be reading this from a prison cell, from the hospital bed, about to enter court, at your workplace, in transit or in whatever situation it is you have before you – I challenge you to put a smile on your face, gladden your heart, be of good courage and say to yourself, “This is a good year, this is my year!”

However, I have three things that I need to share with you for this New Year; things that will propel you to greater heights and make the favour of the Lord work in your life, business, marriage, family and all that you will set your hands on in 2015. They are keys for the year.

The first thing you need to really know and understand in this year is to know your enemy in 2015!

Many a times people run around and do a lot of things because they think that so and so is my enemy and coming to attack me.

Alarm rises; focus is lost and so do mistakes increase in one’s life, marriage, church or organisation.

As a child of God you have to understand this thing – you have one enemy and this one enemy is the devil. “O pastor where do you get it from, what about all these people who are after me and my downfall?” The Word of God says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 4:12).

What does it entail? People, or your uncle, relatives and friends are not your enemies! Neither the tough boss at work and mean spouse in your home! No. You have one enemy who is the devil. What he does is that he comes in different forms and shapes – but he is still the same devil.

If you say ah this year I will thoroughly deal directly with all people who are my enemies you are making a very big mistake. If you are not careful you will end up doing things you never imagined you would do, especially you. You will end up paying witchdoctors or even engage thugs to hurt the people you see as enemies! You deal with this person today and tomorrow a fresh one rises against you, what then do you do?

If you take a hammer from someone who is hammering you they will simply go buy another hammer and hammer you again! That’s what the devil does. He is the man behind the hammer! In 2015 waste no time punching the hammer. No, be wise. Deal with the person holding the hammer and not the hammer! 2015 deal with your real enemy, rebuke the devil in Jesus’ name and tell him, “Enough is enough, I now know your tricks!” O hallelujah!

Secondly, in this year of the Lord’s favour you need to know yourself. If you don’t know yourself you will repeat the same mistakes you have been making in the past years. Many times we point fingers at others as problem causers and yet overlook how much we ourselves can be causers of our problems.

We hear the Apostle Paul saying of himself, “For I know that in me (that is in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do,”(Romans 7:18-19).

He understood how much “himself” could be a problem to himself. In other words, Paul knew himself. Friend in this year, know yourself! Know what you can do and what you cannot do; your areas of strength and the areas that still need to be worked on.

Don’t be like my brother’s friend, let’s call him John. John for a long time didn’t know that when he speaks he spits bits of saliva. He didn’t know about it and didn’t realise that when he was talking to people, they would all take a step back or lift a hand as a cover from the spits from his mouth.

But one day guts were gathered to tell him. He said to my brother, “O Manjoro why didn’t you tell me all this time we have been together?” He was relieved to hear that and understood immediately why all this time people draw back when he is talking to them. It’s not an easy thing to tell something like that but when you are fortunate enough to be told, rejoice and be thankful.

What am I saying to you? 2015 know yourself my friend! Be honest with yourself in this year of the Lord’s favour! Because sometimes where we say the devil did this, my uncle did this it will be ourselves. Have you also realised that when pointing a finger at someone, the rest of your fingers on your palm will be pointing back at you? It means you need to be careful of yourself! Hallelujah!

If you buy bananas with money to buy electricity and when the electricity is cut you say, ”Ah devil has attacked my house!” No! Come on, it’s not the devil – you ate electricity money! Know yourself! Don’t be a walking grave in this year. If you talked too much and offended others much in past years this year let it be a good year. Let everyone that you interact with or talk with love to come to church, work, or school the more and gets encouraged around you!

Finally, in 2015 know your God. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” (Ephesians 3:20). Know that God is able my friend!

He is able to help you achieve all the resolutions in your diary for 2015. You need to know it. He is able to heal your sick daughter; able to give you the job that you want; able to revive your business; able to help you change your character in this good year; able to help you get rid of that destructive habit! God is able! It’s a big key of 2015!

Know your God, for them that know their God shall do great and mighty exploits in this year! For with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).
