ZIMBABWE has recorded 328 Covid-19 recoveries, 57 of them in the Midlands province, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said.

In a statement, the Ministry said most of the recoveries, 76, were recorded in Harare, followed by Midlands with 57. Bulawayo has 39 recoveries.

“High number of recoveries were reported based on the new WHO (World Health Organization) criterion for discharging patients from isolation,” said the Health Ministry.

No deaths were recorded in the country on Sunday due to Covid-19.

On Saturday five deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 18.

“These deaths occurred in Harare and Bulawayo provinces and were detected during routine post mortem as part of our Covid-19 surveillance. We await the full post mortem reports of the direct causes of death,” the Ministry added.

Since the first case was reported on March 20, Zimbabwe now has 985 confirmed cases.
