33 perish in road accidents

yesterday attributed the accidents to speeding, overtaking errors and misjudgment by motorists.
This year’s number of accidents decreased to 246 from 255 recorded last year.
At the same time police impounded 510 vehicles whilst 13 815 tickets were issued for different traffic offences.
“Most of the vehicles that we have impounded were either not registered or defective.
“Motorists should keep on exercising caution since roads will be busy this week with some still travelling till the end the week,” said Insp Chishaka.
