More than 35 000 congregants are expected to converge in Harare over the next few weeks for the 2026 Jehovah’s Witnesses regional convention series.
The event is projected to boost business activity in the capital while promoting spiritual and social well-being.
The convention, which begins tomorrow at the Harare Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waterfalls, forms part of a global programme being held under the theme “Eternal Happiness”.
It is expected to attract thousands of delegates over 14 weekends, generating increased demand for transport, accommodation, food and other services.
Jehovah’s Witnesses regional spokesman Mr Clapperton Kariwo said the convention comes at a time when many people are seeking hope and stability.
“This year’s convention theme discusses how to be happy and how to remain happy. All in attendance will discover the real joy that comes from a solid hope for the future”
The convention programme will be presented in Shona, English and Zimbabwe Sign Language and will feature Bible-based talks, interviews and video presentations focused on practical principles for daily living.
A baptism ceremony is scheduled for Saturday.
