3rd Place for Zimbabwe in 2010 Metropolitan/COSAFA U-20 Championship

All the goals came in the first half of the match at the University of Botswana Stadium in Gaborone with Zimbabwe profiting from an early penalty.

The game was only 10 minutes old when Madagascar conceded the spot kick after the ball hit Toavinna Rambeloson’s hand and Mukamba converted the resultant kick.

But it certainly did not take the wind out of Madagascar’s sails as they stormed back in search of an equaliser and were duly rewarded when Florent Rajaoniasy struck a fierce shot home, capitalising on the failure of goalkeeper George Chigova to properly clear the ball in the 21st minute.

But parity lasted just three minutes before Zimbabwe went back in the lead again as Mukamba scored his second.

A third followed two minutes before half-time from Willard Kalongonda’s header after Madagascar’s Elysees Modenine spilled an in swinging corner.
A second half rain storm proved a deterrent to more goals as Zimbabwe attempted, with some success, to make up for the disappointment of their semi-final defeat on Friday at the hands of defending champions Zambia.-COSAFA
