Bulawayo is under siege as yet another retail outlet was hit by armed robbers — this time Hamara Shop in Pumula East, just hours after a triple robbery rocked three Sai Mart branches across the city.
The daylight heist happened around 1:30PM on Saturday, with witnesses saying the robbers, once again using a Honda Fit getaway car, stormed the shop and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said she was still waiting for a full briefing, but staff at Hamara confirmed the incident.
“The shop is closed for stocktake to verify how much was taken,” said a visibly shaken employee.
This latest hit adds fuel to growing fears that a well-coordinated gang of armed robbers is running wild in Bulawayo, targeting money transfer points and retail stores in broad daylight.
The manhunt continues…
