4 players suspended

WHILE the season ended as expected with game number 34 for the selected Highlanders and FC Platinum players on Wednesday, four of the nearly 420 registered players in the league were already on off season due to suspensions.

The four players received three yellow cards heading into the last games of the season and one of them was Pure Platinum’s Gift Bello who missed his side’s 0-0 draw against the Bulawayo giants at Barbourfields Stadium.

“The following players have each accumulated three yellow cards and shall not participate in their club’s matchday 34 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League scheduled for 21 to 25 November 2018.
Gift Bello (FC Platinum), Kudzai Nyamupfukudza (Caps United FC), Collen Kwaramba (Chapungu FC), Brian Mapfumo (Yadah FC),” the PSL announced in a communique.

Nyamufukudza and Kwaramba will miss their sides’ last encounter of the season while Mapfumo will be missing in action when Yadah wrap up their season against Harare City this weekend.

To its credit the PSL has been spot on with it’s suspensions unlike in years gone by where some corrupt tendencies where suspected with clubs being advised on the eve of games by interested members of the league’s leadership.

While the current rules and regulations of the league are silent, it is expected that a player who receives a red card in the last game of the season shall serve his sanction when the season resumes the following year.
