FOUR women operating under the guise of massage therapists at a Harare lodge were fined US$100 each yesterday after pleading guilty to charges of soliciting for prostitution through online platforms.

The accused, identified as Sekai Chisango (33), Fadzai Mukucha (20), Faith Pahlani (28), and Liana Demberere (21), appeared before Harare magistrate Lisa Mutendereki, where they admitted to contravening laws prohibiting solicitation for prostitution via electronic media accessible to the public.

The complaint was filed by the State, represented by Museba Umary, a member of the Zimbabwe Republic Police stationed at the Harare License Inspectorate.

According to the prosecution, on February 2, 2026, ZRP Harare License Inspectorate received a tip-off regarding a Facebook post and WhatsApp page titled “Closure Perfect Touch Spa.”

The page advertised various massage services, explicitly including sexual services such as sex and oral sex, with a detailed price list for the services offered.

The advertisement claimed that eight women were available 24/7 for clients to choose from.

Images of the women, with their faces redacted, were also included in the promotional material.

An informant contacted “Closure Perfect Touch Spa” via WhatsApp to inquire about their services and location.

Acting on the information provided, undercover police officers arranged a meeting and were directed to the business premises at 18 Fereday Drive, Eastlea, Harare.

The police raided the location around 3pm, leading to the arrest of the accused women.

Investigations revealed that the women were voluntarily employed at the premises, where they promoted prostitution while masquerading as massage therapists.

During the arrest, police officers searched the accused persons’ mobile phones and uncovered nude photographs and pornographic videos, further implicating them in the solicitation of prostitution.

The court established that the women had been engaging in the illegal promotion of prostitution by publishing explicit advertisements on social media and messaging platforms for public consumption.
