Five people killed in Harare-Nyamapanda Road traffic accident

FIVE people died while nine others were injured when an Isuzu D-Max was involved in a head on collision with another Isuzu D-Max at the 101km peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda Road.

One of the vehicles had one passenger on board while the other one had 14 passengers.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident which happened at 2.40pm on Monday.

“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on July 27, 2026 at around 2:40 pm at the 101 km peg along the Harare–Nyamapanda Road,” he said.

“Five people were killed, while nine others sustained injuries when an Isuzu D-Max with one passenger on board was involved in a head on collision with another Isuzu D-Max with 14 passengers on board,” he said.

The accident comes a few hours after three people were also killed following a road traffic accident which occurred at the 80 kilometre peg along Gweru Zvishavane Road on the same day at around 9 am.

The three were killed when a shackman truck was involved in a collision with an AD Van.
