The woman locked herself in a closet and the rapper allegedly kicked down the door and kicked the woman, too.
Jackson was charged with five counts, including one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.
50 Cent and the woman had been in a three-year relationship and he has a child with her.
The rapper faces a maximum sentence of five years in jail and US$46 000 in fines, if convicted on all counts.
Jackson was due back in court on July 22 for his arraignment. 50 Cent tweeted on Wednesday that he was not in custody.
‘’I’’m in the car I haven’’t been arrested. I’’m listing (sic) to MJ#SMSAUDIO,’’ he tweeted to his nearly 7,4 million followers while giving a plug to his SMS Audio electronics manufacturing company.
The reference was apparently to listening to Michael Jackson, as he earlier tweeted lyrics from the King of Pop’’s 1982 hit Billie Jea
