NORWAY chiefs have had over 400 kilograms of fish and cheese imported to their US World Cup base so players do not to have to rely on American food.

Erling Haaland and Co are hoping to have a big run in North America this summer and got their campaign off to a perfect start by beating Iraq 4-1 earlier this week.

Stars will be fuelled by typically Norwegian dishes, with US fast food options shunned for more traditional Nordic grub.

Norwegian outlet News18 have revealed the extent of their national team’s haul.

They report that they have shipped over 300kg of Atlantic salmon and white fish for players to feast on during their tournament run.

Norway have also brought over 116kg of brunost — a classically Norwegian type of brown caramelised cheese.

Stale Solbakken’s side topped off their order with a staggering 6,000 oranges.

To get through all of these oranges between their first match against Iraq and the final on July 19, Norway’s 26-man squad would have to gorge on SEVEN each per day.

Norway’s food order has been on an incredible journey across the Atlantic.

Their UNC Greensboro base is more than 4,000 MILES from Norwegian capital Oslo.

Norway’s catering team in North America is being led by experienced chef Aron Espeland.

The veteran cook has been working with the Norwegian national team for 35 years.

Haaland and Co are said to be consuming four light meals a day consisting of familiar homely dishes.

This has been planned in order to reduce the risk of upset stomachs and indigestion that can come with a dramatic change in diet.

So stars will not be stuffing their faces with Taco Bells or McDonalds — unless maybe they hoist the trophy on July 19 — unlike some France stars who couldn’t resist nipping out to a fasfood joint this week.

Manchester City talisman Haaland, 25, bagged twice on his World Cup debut on the way to victory over Iraq.

The superstar striker will be back in action against Senegal tonight. —Sun.
