The 2026 Mine Entra edition has been described as a success after recording a 20 percent increase in floor occupancy, from 7 368 square metres in 2025 to 8 860 square metres this year, with the exhibition attracting delegates from Zimbabwe and international markets.
The exhibition was held in July under the theme, “Unearth, Transform, Prosper: Accelerating Economic Transformation Through Integrated Mining Value Chains,” which underscored the need for Zimbabwe to move beyond raw mineral extraction towards local beneficiation, value addition and inclusive participation in mining value chains.
The initiative aligns with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS 2) and Vision 2030, which spotlight mining as a crucial element for economic transformation, industrialisation, and investment mobilisation.
According to a post-Cabinet report presented by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Zhemu Soda on Tuesday, the exhibition attracted delegates from across the world, reflecting the growing international interest in Zimbabwe’s mining sector.
“The Exhibition recorded a 20% increase in floor occupancy from 7 368 square metres in 2025 to 8 860 square metres in 2026, and attracted delegates from Zimbabwe and across the world, from countries such as South Africa, India, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France and Japan,” said Dr Soda.
The increase in exhibition space points to growing participation by mining companies, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, investors and other industry stakeholders, with Mine Entra providing a platform for businesses to showcase technologies, forge partnerships and explore investment opportunities.
The expo also came as Government continues to pursue greater economic value from the country’s mineral resources through beneficiation, value addition and increased local participation across mining value chains.
Following the success of the Mine Expo 2026, the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development will continue to strengthen post-show and outcomes reporting in order to keep track of the value of business concluded at the 2026 and future editions, he added.
The continued growth of Mine Entra reinforces its role as an important platform for advancing Zimbabwe’s mining industry while connecting local businesses with regional and international markets.
