A BEER-drinking session between two acquaintances at a local shebeen ended in an alleged aggravated indecent assault of a 60-year-old man by his 45-year-old companion, Samuel Chipakacha, from Hopely, Waterfalls.
Chipakacha is facing charges of aggravated indecent assault, informally known as gay rape.
He appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa, who advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Mr Lancelot Mutsokoti told the court that the assault occurred on February 23 when the two, who live in the same neighbourhood, were drinking beer together at Uncle Grey Shebeen around 1 pm. The complainant, who became heavily intoxicated, decided to leave and go home to rest. The accused allegedly followed him shortly afterwards.
At the complainant’s house, Chipakacha reportedly found him lying on his bed and then committed gay rape.
During the assault, a local resident, Kindness Mavhura, entered the house without knocking and allegedly witnessed Chipakacha on top of the complainant. Later that day, around 8 pm, Mavhura narrated the incident to the complainant when he visited Mavhura’s house.
The matter was reported to the police, and the complainant underwent a medical examination.
