TWO journalism lecturers survived a horror crash after their vehicle hit a cow before colliding with an oncoming vehicle between Gweru and Kwekwe on Tuesday evening

Dr Lyton Siya Ncube a journalism lecturer at Midlands State University and Dr Jasper Maphosa a part time journalism lecturer with Great Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe Open University are admitted at Midlands Private Hospital in Gweru where they are in a stable condition following the crush.

Dr Ncube who was behind the wheel of the Toyota Bubble said they were heading towards Kwekwe from Gweru when disaster struck.

“We were going to Kwekwe after I had picked Dr Maphosa from Gweru where he was doing his marking,” said Dr Ncube.

“I couldn’t see what was in front of me as I was flashed, all of a sudden I saw a huge thing in front of me and the next thing a loud bang,” he said.

The cow, he said, had died after it was hit by another vehicle earlier.
